Council meeting is set for December 13, 2007
Present: Mike McKenzie, Sally Adams, Tim Mitsumori,
Kathy Doyle, Michael Brown, Bill Bradford, Susannah Kilbourne, Jeannie Graham,
Marsha Bordas, Mike Henderson, Larry Sykes, Scott Davis, Janet Lee
Absent: Ann Cowan
Introductions
Agenda
- Larry Sykes made a motion and Jeannie Graham seconded
that: We approve the agenda as amended. The motion passed.
Minutes
- Jeannie Graham made a motion and Marsha Bordas
seconded that: We approve the minutes from the October 25, 2007 SBDM
Council meeting as amended. The motion passed.
- Jeannie Graham made a motion and Marsha Bordas
seconded that: We approve the minutes of the October 29, 2007 Special
Meeting as written. The motion passed.
Community Input
- Kathy Doyle praised the Lafayette students for their
polite behavior when entering the football game.
- Susannah Kilbourne expressed concern about circulation
of permission slips to leave class that were stolen from the counseling
office. Mr. McKenzie explained that the situation is being addressed.
Budget Transfer
- Janet Lee made a motion and Mike Henderson seconded
that: We approve the budget transfer as requested. The motion
passed.
Fee Waiver Request
- Charlotte Sebastian requests fee waiver funds in the
amount of $625 for Art I classes.
- Ryan Marsh requests fee waiver funds in the amount of
$106 for Musicianship I and AP Music Theory classes.
- Janet Lee made a motion and Larry Sykes seconded
that: We approve the request for fee waiver funds as presented. The
motion passed.
New Course Update
- The new art class that was approved to be added to the
schedule card during the October 29 Special SBDM Meeting, will not be
offered. The art department felt this class would not be appropriate for 9th
grade students.
Instructional Achievement
- Mr. McKenzie informed the Council that certified staff
spent November 6 working on professional development.
- They worked on open response questions and writing
portfolios.
Budget Report
- The Council was given the October activity budget
report and SCIF budget report for review.
Textbook Request
- The Math Department requests $98.88 in textbook funds
to cover the purchase of supplemental books to work on ACT preparation.
- Mike Henderson made a motion and Larry Sykes seconded
that: We approve the textbook request as presented. The motion
passed.
Adjournment
- Larry Sykes made a motion and Mike Henderson seconded
that: We adjourn the November 8, 2007 SBDM Council meeting. The
motion passed.
