May 24, 2007

The next SBDM Council meeting is set for June 14, 2007

Present:  Mike McKenzie, Sherri McPherson, Jeannie Graham, Sally Adams, Janet Lee, Marsha Bordas, Bobbie Simpson, Larry Sykes, Bill Bradford, Debbie Huffman, Verna Clemons

Absent:  Rob Strobel, Van Kirk

Introductions

• None.

Agenda

• Janet Lee made a motion and Marsha Bordas seconded that:  We approve the agenda as written.  The motion passed.

Minutes

• Jeannie Graham made a motion and Verna Clemons seconded that:  We approve the minutes from the May 10, 2007 SBDM Council meeting as amended.  The motion passed.

Community Input

• Jeannie Graham asked if AP testing could be done somewhere other than the library. As it now stands, the library is occupied by AP testing for almost a month.  Mr. McKenzie said they are looking into other options.
• Janet Lee inquired into the status of the appeals from students about their On Demand scores. 
• Mr. McKenzie reviewed the attendance data with the Council.

Drama Request

• Paul Thomas asked the Council to set aside his supplemental duty pay for the 2007-08 school year to be used by the drama department.  It would be used to make improvements to the auditorium.
• The Council decided to take this into consideration when they approve the complete supplemental duty package.

Summer SBDM Meetings

• The Council will meet the second Thursday in June and fourth Thursday in July.

Consultation

• Pursuant to KRS.61810.1F Larry Sykes made a motion and Marsha Bordas seconded that: We move into executive session to consult on orchestra and counseling positions.  The motion passed
