The next SBDM Council meeting is set for March 13, 2008

Present:  Mike McKenzie, Sally Adams, Tim Mitsumori, Kathy Doyle, Bill Bradford, Mike Henderson, Janet Lee, Randy Gonzalez, Jeannie Graham, Scott Davis

Absent:  Michael Brown, Marsha Bordas, Ann Cowan, Susannah Kilbourne, Larry Sykes

Introductions

·         None.

Agenda

• Jeannie Graham made a motion and Kathy Doyle seconded that:  We approve the agenda as written.  The motion passed.

Minutes

• Jeannie Graham made a motion and Mike Henderson seconded that:  We approve the minutes from the February 14, 2008 SBDM Council meeting as written.  The motion passed.

Community Input

• Mr. McKenzie informed the Council that a grant will pay for the cost of AP tests for our students.  Those who have already made payments will receive a refund.
• On Demand scores will be given to students after portfolio due date.

March Meeting Schedule

• The SBDM Council will meet every Thursday in March.

Custodial Position Request

• Mike Henderson made a motion and Bill Bradford seconded that: We approve the request to combine two half time custodial positions to one full time position.  The motion passed.

Staffing

• Mr. McKenzie gave the Council information concerning the student course requests for next year.  The Council will review the requests and discuss staffing at the next Council meeting.
• Lafayette’s allocation for next year is 89.9 teachers, 2 associate principles, 6 counselors, 10 secretaries, 1 SAFE aide and 2 media specialists.

Budgeting

• Jeannie Graham made a motion and Mike Henderson seconded that:  We approve, for first reading, the 2008-09 SCIF Budget as presented.  The motion passed.

Adjournment

• Mike Henderson made a motion and Bill Bradford seconded that:  We adjourn the SBDM Council meeting.  The motion passed.
