The next SBDM
Council meeting is set for April 10 2008
Present: Mike McKenzie, Sally Adams, Tim Mitsumori,
Kathy Doyle, Bill Bradford, Mike Henderson, Janet Lee, Randy Gonzalez, Jeannie
Graham, Scott Davis, Marsha Bordas, Ann Cowan, Susannah Kilbourne, Larry Sykes,
Michael Brown

Agenda
- Bill Bradford made a motion and Jeannie Graham
seconded that: We approve the agenda as amended. The motion passed.
Minutes
- Marsha Bordas made a motion and Janet Lee seconded
that: We approve the minutes from the March 13, 2008 SBDM Council
meeting as amended. The motion passed.
Community Input
- Janet Lee and Jeannie Graham complimented the students
on the TSA, speech and academic teams for the great job they did during
recent competitions.
Staffing
- The Council had a thorough discussion on where to make
the .5 staffing reduction. Suggestions were .5 in the business department,
.5 in the English department, and 1.0 in world languages department. All
German non-tenured teachers will be pink slipped.
- Randy Gonzalez made a motion and Larry Sykes seconded
that: We reduce the world languages department by 1.0 position. German
will not be offered for the 2008-09 school year. The motion passed.
- Kathy Doyle made a motion and Susannah Kilbourne
seconded that: The additional .5 position will be used in the most
effective way possible. The motion passed.
- Janet Lee made a motion and Larry Sykes seconded
that: The SBDM Council charges the world languages department to pursue
Japanese as a course offering and making periodic reports to the Council on
it’s progress. The motion passed.
Budgeting
- Kathy Doyle made a motion and Bill Bradford seconded
that: We approve, for 2nd reading, the 2008-09 Sec 6 budget
as amended. The motion passed.
Adjournment
- Mike Henderson made a motion and Marsha Bordas
seconded that: We adjourn the SBDM Council meeting. The motion
passed.
