SPECIAL MEETING

The next SBDM Council meeting is set for March 22, 2007

Present:  Mike McKenzie, Debbie Huffman, Sherri McPherson, Jeannie Graham, Van Kirk, Sally Adams, Bill Bradford, Bobbie Simpson, Larry Sykes, Verna Clemons

Absent:  Rob Strobel, Janet Lee

Introductions

• Marsha Bordas, new SBDM teacher representative, Ken Northington, business teacher, and Casey Craddock, a UK student were introduced.

Agenda

• Sherri McPherson made a motion and Bill Bradford seconded that:  We approve the agenda as written.  The motion passed.

Minutes

• Jeannie Graham made a motion and Verna Clemons seconded that:  We approve the minutes from the March 8, 2007 SBDM Council meeting as written.  The motion passed.

Staffing

• The Council discussed the German program and decided not to offer German I next year and to phase out the program as students who are presently in the German program graduate.
• The World Language department will look into the integrating another language into the curriculum in the future.
• Larry Sykes made a motion and Sally Adams seconded that:  We approve for second reading the reduction of the Business department by .5 position and increase the Family Consumer Science department by .5 position.  The motion passed.

Budgeting

• Jeannie Graham made a motion and Bobbie Simpson seconded that:  We approve for second reading the 2007-2008 budget request in the amount of $243,381.00.  The motion passed.

Van Kirk made a motion and Sally Adams seconded that:  We adjourn the March 15, 2007 SBDM Council meeting.  The motion passed.
