The next SBDM Council meeting is set for March 20, 2008

Present:  Mike McKenzie, Sally Adams, Tim Mitsumori, Kathy Doyle, Bill Bradford, Mike Henderson, Janet Lee, Randy Gonzalez, Jeannie Graham, Scott Davis, Marsha Bordas, Ann Cowan, Susannah Kilbourne, Larry Sykes

Absent:  Michael Brown

Introductions

·         None.

Agenda

• Janet Lee made a motion and Mike Henderson seconded that:  We approve the agenda as written.  The motion passed.

Minutes

• Jeannie Graham made a motion and Mike Henderson seconded that:  We approve the minutes from the March 6, 2008 SBDM Council meeting as written.  The motion passed.

Community Input

• Marsha Bordas told the Council the ACT testing went well.  The planning was thorough and the proctors did a nice job of supervising.  There was 95% attendance for the 11^th grade.

Budget Report

• The Council was given the monthly budget reports for review.

Staffing

• Mr. McKenzie told the Council that a .5 position would need to be cut for the 2008-09 school year.
• Larry Sykes made a motion and Marsha Bordas seconded that:  We approve for first reading the reduction of a .5 position in English for the 2008-09 school year.  The motion passed.
• Larry Sykes made a motion to amend his original motion and Mike Henderson seconded that:  We approve for first reading the staffing of the English Department at 101 sections.  All other departments sections will remain at current levels.  The motion passed.

Budgeting

• Second reading of the 2008-09 budget will take place at the next Council meeting.

Adjournment

• Mike Henderson made a motion and Marsha Bordas seconded that:  We adjourn the SBDM Council meeting.  The motion passed.
