The next SBDM Council meeting is set for July 26, 2007

Present:  Mike McKenzie, Sherri McPherson, Jeannie Graham, Sally Adams, Janet Lee, Marsha Bordas, Bill Bradford, Verna Clemons

Absent:  Rob Strobel, Van Kirk, Bobbie Simpson, Debbie Huffman, Larry Sykes

Introductions

• None.

Agenda

• Janet Lee made a motion and Verna Clemons seconded that:  We approve the agenda as amended.  The motion passed.

Minutes

• Jeannie Graham made a motion and Marsha Bordas seconded that:  We approve the minutes from the May 24, 2007 SBDM Council meeting as amended.  The motion passed.

Community Input

• Mr. McKenzie informed the Council about the weekend fire of the Football General Store.  Several items stored in the building were destroyed as well as the structure.
• Janet Lee commended the staff for their monitoring of the school hallways.

Supplemental Duty Positions

• Mr. McKenzie presented the Council with a list of supplemental salary schedule that he suggested be funded.
• The special education department chairs requested that that position be funded as two positions instead of one.  They feel that with the increasing student population with special needs, that the volume of paper and time will requires two positions.  The Council discussed this issue and declined the request.
• Marsha Bordas made a motion and Bill Bradford seconded that:  We approve the funding of the supplemental salary schedule as presented.  The motion passed.

Meeting Schedule

• The SBDM Council will meet the fourth Thursday in July.

Textbooks

• Janet Lee made a motion and Verna Clemons seconded that:  We approve the textbook request from world languages, practical living and vocational studies, and science contingent upon textbook allocation.  The motion passed.

Consultation

• Pursuant to KRS.61810.1F Mike McKenzie made a motion that: We move into executive session to consult science, German, ESL, art, SCAPA and special education.  The motion passed
