Introductions
Agenda
- Larry Sykes made a motion and Janet Lee seconded
that: We approve the agenda as amended to include the textbook request.
The motion passed.
Minutes
- Janet Lee made a motion and Larry Sykes seconded that:
We approve the minutes from the July 26, 2007 SBDM Council meeting as
written. The motion passed.
Community Input
- Mike Henderson and Lafayette parent volunteers were
commended on the excellent job they did this summer with pre-registration of
students. Pre-registration took place for six days and over $60,000 in
textbook/agenda fees were collected.
Dual Credit Class Weight
- Rebecca Simms, program coordinator, and Becky Sagans,
school board member have talked to Janet Lee concerning the weight given to
duel credit classes.
- Janet Lee made a motion and Marsha Bordas seconded
that: We approve for duel credit classes to be weighted the same as
advance classes and AP classes. The motion passed.
Principal Selection Policy
- Larry Sykes distributed the principal selection policy
for review and discussion at the next Council meeting.
- Janet Lee thanked the principal selection policy sub
committee for their hard work in putting this policy together.
PD Request
- Janet Lee made a motion and Bill Bradford seconded
that: We approve the request from Susannah Kilbourne for PD funds to pay
for $210 registration fee to attend the National Council of Teachers of
English conference. The motion passed.
By Law Review
- The Council was asked if there were bylaws they wished
to review. None were requested.
Textbook Request
- Janet Lee made a motion and Larry Sykes seconded that:
We approve the request from World Languages to be paid from
replacement books funds and the request SCAPA vocal music to be paid from
textbook funds. The motion passed.
- The special education request for textbooks will be
reviewed and brought back at the next Council Meeting.
Consultation
- Pursuant to KRS.61810.1F Larry Sykes made a motion and
Bill Bradford seconded that: We move into executive session to consult on
secretary positions and SAFE position. The motion passed.
