LAFAYETTE SBDM COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

April 12, 2007

The next SBDM Council meeting is set for April 26, 2007

Present:  Mike McKenzie, Debbie Huffman, Sherri McPherson, Jeannie Graham, Van Kirk, Sally Adams, Bill Bradford, Verna Clemons, Janet Lee, Marsha Bordas

Absent:  Rob Strobel, Bobbie Simpson, Larry Sykes

Introductions

• None.

Agenda

• Janet Lee made a motion and Marsha Bordas seconded that:  We approve the agenda as written.  The motion passed.

Minutes

• Jeannie Graham made a motion and Van Kirk seconded that:  We approve the minutes from the March 22, 2007 SBDM Council meeting as amended.  The motion passed.

Community Input

• Janet Lee inquired about the timeline on the replacement of the Lafayette stadium.  Mr. McKenzie said that all parties are aware of the situation and working on the problem.

Activity Account

• Jeannie Graham made a motion and Janet Lee seconded that:  We approve the 2007-08 Activity Account budget as published.  The motion passed.

Professional Development Report

• The Council reviewed the current PD report. 
• Money has been set aside to pay teacher stipends for portfolio scoring
• $1,000 has been approved for Tracy Lambert to attend the awards ceremony where she will be presented with the Dorothy S. Ludwig Excellence in Teaching Award. 

Budget Reports

• Budget reports were presented to the Council for review.

Interviewing Schedule

• Mike Henderson will head the interview committee for teacher vacancies in the science and social studies departments.
• Verna Clemons will head the interview committee for teacher vacancies in the special education department.
• Mike McKenzie will head the interview committee for teacher vacancies in the counseling, SCAPA, and orchestra departments.
• Stephanie McDermott will head the interview committee for teacher vacancies in the English department.

Verna Clemons made a motion and Sherri McPherson seconded that:  We adjourn the April 12, 2007 SBDM Council meeting.  The motion passed.
