LHS WRESTLING TEAM ON BALL REPORT – HEAD TO STATE: Lafayette Wrestlers will be on the "Scholastic Ball Report" Saturday 12:30 on CWKYT. Justin Torgerson-Kevin Vasquez and Mason Boggs are the 'Athletes of the Week'. The Wrestlers, will be interviewed, along with Coach William Green. Watch them Saturday 12:30 on CW. Good luck to wrestlers John Raymond, Mason Boggs, Kevin Vasquez, and Justin Torgerson as they compete in the State wrestling tournament today and tomorrow at the Kentucky Horse Park. Go Generals!

AOK PROM DRESS DRIVE: The Acts of Kindness Club’s prom dress drive will last until the 10th of March. All dresses donated or loaned can be brought to room 265 and will be given to other girls to wear or borrow for their prom. If a dress is loaned it will be returned after prom.
NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY: Juniors invited to join the National Honor Society: your dues and t-shirt money are due by Wednesday, February 22. Questions? See Ms. Holland in room 212.
LAFAYETTE BOOK & FILM CLUB: The Lafayette Book & Film Club is reading The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. We will discuss the book and watch the movie on February 22nd beginning at 3:30 PM in the Library. See Mrs. Franklin in Room 201 for any questions.

JOSTEN’S DELIVERING CAPS & GOWNS: Josten’s will be here on Wednesday, March 15th to deliver caps and gowns that have arrived! SCIENCE AWARD PROGRAM: 10th and 11th graders – Are you interested in in being part of the science that can cure cancer? LFUCG SUMMER YOUTH JOB TRAINING PROGRAM: LFUCG has delivered applications for the Summer Youth Job Training Program. Anyone ages 14 to 17 are welcome to apply. Trainees will be assigned to part-time jobs with Lexington businesses, government agencies, and community organizations earning $8.20 an hour and working up to 20 hours a week. Applications are in the counseling office.
UK DENTISTRY CAREER EVENT FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS: The University of Kentucky Student National Dental Association invites high school students to the upcoming event Impressions on Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 12:00- 4:00 pm at the UK College of Dentistry. Impressions is a program designed to expose underrepresented students to a career in dentistry and provide information about the dental school application and financial aid process. Students will get the opportunity to participate in mock interviews, DAT prep, shadowing, hand skills, application prep, prizes, and more. EKU DIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP: Eastern KY University offers the Dr. Rodney Gross Diversity Scholarship worth $1,000 - $3,000 annually. Applications are in the counseling office and the deadline is March 1, 2017.
COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD FOR SENIORS: Seniors: the Community Action Council is accepting applications for the Outstanding Community Service Award. This is for seniors making a difference in our community. Multiple students can be selected for the award based on the selection panel’s assessment of the nominations. Up to $1,000 in awards will be distributed. Applications are in the counseling office. Deadline is March 31, 2107.
